Steam Engine 5108B Plus ISO DE/Nordic

I wanted to buy a custom mechanical keyboard, but looked for the one with the ISO layout, because I am used to it and wouldn't like to adapt to the ANSI layout. Also, being in the EU, I wanted the one with the localized keycaps, as many as possible. This keyboard came as a perfect solution, satisfying all my needs. The build quality is great, sturdy, and the sound is very pleasant, no mods needed at all. I opted for linear jelly black switches, which are very comfortable to type on (I don't do gaming). Having the full 100% layout is also a big plus, along with dedicated volume (and suprisingly calculator!) keys - which makes my workflow much easier. The Akko Cloud software is rudimental, but does the work, makes customizing the keys and lighting a breeze. RGB lights are there for show only, as they do not shine though the keycaps, only around them. But they are nice nevertheless.
Delivery time was under 2 weeks (EU), packaging is rich and of high quality, replacement keycaps for different languages are useful, and addition of accent orange ones makes the classic retro look a bit more fun. Akko support is very responsive and I can't recommend this product enough, especially if you need a classic ISO keyboard for quietr and comfortable office work and a lot of typing. No downsides so far.

Bei Beginn musste ich schon ein paar Switches Austauschen (etwas 10 wurden aber mitgeliefert) ich habe die Pinken genommen. Ich finde es schade das es genau diese Tastatur nicht in komplett weiß gab. Aber brauchte neben meiner Gaming Tastatur noch eine reine Arbeitstastatur und die reicht mir dafür. Der Preis ist auch nicht gerechtfertigt.
Die Tastatur fühlt sich insgesamt weich an, was mir gefällt.

Gute Tastatur, gute Double Shot Keycaps, aber die deutsche Variante von den Tasten 4 und 5 fehlt. Man kann die 4 von Nordic und die 5 von ISO-UK nehmen, aber da ist dann zusätzlich ein EURO Symbol auf den beiden Tasten. Ist nicht schlimm, aber wenn man eine Tastatur als ISO-DE verkauft erwartet man das alle Tasten dabei sind. In der Papieranleitung steht auch das man die 4 und 5 gegen die ISO-DE Variante austauschen soll. Zur Ehrenrettung: Auf der Webseite sieht man sogar das nur die Taste für die 2 und 3 ausgetauscht wird. Man hätte es vor dem Kauf merken können.

Für eine perfekte Tastatur braucht man nochmal vollständige ISO-DE Keycaps.

Gute solide 100% Tastatur.
+ Die Jelly Black Switches sind der Hammer.
+ Das Tippen ist sehr angenehm auf den doubleshot PBT Tasten.
+ Die Software funktioniert sehr gut
+ Das Verbinden von mehreren Bluetooth Geräten funktionier sehr gut
+ Sehr guter Support
+ Ausreichende Akkulaufzeit
+Gute mitgelieferte Tools (Switch und Keycaps Löser)

- Die PBT doubleshot Keycaps sind innen Schwarz und verdunkeln die RGB Beleuchtung was sehr negativ auffällt. Daher war ich dazu gezwungen ein Satz Keycaps zu kaufen um 100% die RGB Beleuchtung anzuschauen.
- Das Gehäuse der Tastatur ist sehr lästig zusammen gebaut und erschwert unnötig das öffnen der Tastatur
- Die Tastatur ist nach meinem Geschmack etwas zu hoch. Das lässt sich aber einfach mit einer Armablage lösen. Diese habe ich auch über Akko geholt für 10€. Sehr gute Armablage btw.
- Für den stolzen Preis von 110€ (ohne MwSt) ist es doch etwas zu teuer. Ich habe die Tastatur im Angebot für 55€ (ohne MwST) geholt gehabt und das ist ein Fairer Preis meiner Meinung nach.

Falls jemand also sich für diese Art von Akko Tastatur interessiert (5108B Plus ISO DE/Nordic) würde ich warten bis diese im Angebot ist.
Ich hätte mir von Akko noch gewünscht, dass es bei so einer Art von Tastatur noch ein Curved Kabel dazu geben würde. Das mitgelieferte Kabel sieht relativ altmodisch aus.

Ist meine erste mechanische Tastatur und muss sagen, dass ich sehr zufrieden bin.
Es gibt zwar für ISO-DE kleine Fehler auf den Tastenkappen (€-Symbol auf der 4 und 5) aber die kann man ignorieren, für mich zumindest kein großes Problem.
Die Tastatur hab ich mir während eines Sales geholt, hab also nur die Hälfte des eigentlichen Preises gezahlt.
Für ISO-DE müssen ein Paar Tastenkappe ausgetauscht werden, das Werkzeug dafür wird aber mitgeliefer. Zudem bekommt man 5(?) extra Switches, ebenfalls mit entsprechendem Werkzeug.
Alles in Allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit der Steam Engine 5108B.

The clackyness is good but the key cap text varies wildly, some are in bold font, some are in different font types than others and the numpad section seems to be a different type of plastic than the rest of the keyboard.

Other than that it is quite nice.

This is my first custom keyboard and so far it's been amazing. Great Switches (I picked black jelly), great build quality, lovely color scheme, the bluetooth works great and without struggle, the LEDs aren't too bright and the color range is good.

Die Tastatur kam gut verpackt und innerhalb von zwei Wochen an. Beiliegend waren noch einmal ein tastender für Skandinavien und eines für Deutschland- top!

Die Tastatur ist super verarbeitet und die switches sind genial zum arbeiten, aber auch zum zocken! Ich werde in Zukunft maximal noch mit anderen switches von Akko experimentieren! :D

Absolute kaufempfehlung!

The sound is perfect, and the feel is sublime. The inputs and decorations are fantastic. Everything is beautiful; the only downside is that there’s no option for Italian keyboard keys, but given the quality, it's nothing unforgivable

This is my first Hot Swappable keyboard, and so far enjoying the typing experience, I do wish it came with the UK keysets as well like the Blue 5108B's (however those were not available in the switches I wanted.) or they gave you the option to buy the extra keys as a add-on without having to purchase a full set. You could just buy the stickers as a cheap solution but they won't match the colourway. But this was known before purchase so it's more a nitpick than a issue.

Another small issue is the Orange 'Enter' key included is the ANSI keycap and not a ISO keycap. which is a shame as I really like the orange keycaps included and a Orange enter key would really finish the look.

Other than that I'm really loving the keyboard, love the tactile switches (though do personally prefer quieter switches) and the colourway, though I do wish the wake up time was quicker on wireless as you do end up missing a few letters when you start typing if you forget to give it a couple of seconds to fully wake.

Habe die Tastatur in einem Sale hier bekommen und mir für die Arbeit bestellt.
Große Kritikpunkte gibt es wirklich nicht, außer dass ich nochmal eine kaufen musste für meine Freundin. Und man merkt, was für komische Tastaturen man sonst so hat.
Angenehmes Tippgefühl (Jelly Pink) motivieren einfach drauf los zu schreiben und ich hatte richtig Spaß bisher.
Die Ausstattung ist klasse, alles dabei was man eben so braucht.
Habe direkt mit dem Tastatur-Anpassen-Hobby angefangen und gestern erst die Switche etwas geschmiert. Wirklich ein butterweicher Traum :-)

Ein paar mini-kleine "Kritik" bzw. eher Anmerkungen:
-RGB ist in weiss durch die Switche halt immer leicht pink - logisch, aber ich habe da nicht dran gedacht. Ist bei anderen Tastaturen bestimmt genauso.
-die Software musste ich erst suchen, aber kein riesen Problem. Nach bissi rumschauen hatte ich die und es klappt einfach.
-ein Switch hat nicht ganz so toll funktioniert. Die Taste hat nach 10-15 mal betätigen ausgesetzt oder doppelt ausgelöst. dank hot-swap aber gar kein Problem. Kommt ja mit 5 Ersatz-switchen
- beim ISO-DE LÖayout ist mir aufgefallen, dass die Beschriftung einen kleinen Ticken Fetter auf den Tasten ist als bei den anderen. Aber das habe ich erst nach ein paar Tagen gemerkt.

First of all - i love my new akko keyboard. But at the same time“german“ keycap set, there is an „€“ symbol on the 4 and 5 which should not be there. Also it would be nice to have a better knowlege about the battery status. But beside these two minor issues everything is amazing!

Steam Engine 5108B Plus ISO DE/Nordic

Ich habe mir die Tastatur wärend der Rabatt Aktion für knapp 65€ gekauft gehabt und bin damit hoch zufrieden. Die Jelly Purple Switches sind den Cherry MX Blue die ich davor hatte vom Tipgefühl her recht ähnlich nur eben deutschlich leiser.

It works well Il wifi, in bluetooth have some lag. I really appreciate more keycaps for iso, example Italian one, but is only a dream 😅

The order was fast in processing and the item as expected, very high quality/price ratio. This keyboard is highly recomended, a perfect compromise between quality, features and correct price.

The keyboard looks absolutely beautiful, I love the design (specifically was looking for a 80s/90s style beige one, and I love the extra orange keys as highlights too).

I'm not a keyboard professional, this is my first mechanical keyboard, and it's really nice to type on (though I'm not sure if I chose the right switches as the low actuation force means I slightly mistype. That's on me though).

When I asked about the delivery time (the postage tracking info said it was running late and I got nervous) the customer support staff were very helpful and prompt, and it arrived with no troubles.

It would be nice if there were UK iso keycaps in stock, as I had to buy spare stickers for that, however I was aware that only DE and Nordic ones were available when buying it.

I like that it's full size, hotswappable, looks great, and is affordable (compared to other ones) and high quality. There was a small issue when I first got it that some of the keys (especially the volume keys) were pressing when I wasn't pressing it, however it's not done that for a while.

Die Tastaturswitches und Verarbeitung sind gut oder für die Preisklasse sehr gut. Wer allerdings eine externe Tastatur für Mac sucht, sollte es sich zwei Mal überlegen.

Es liegen nämlich keine Mac-Caps dabei. D.h. CMD-Taste fehlt, Klammern sind falsch, Funktionstasten nicht erkennbar. Der USB-Modus erlaubt quasi nur das Windows-Layout, der Schalter ist nervig, da dieser automatisch immer Bluetooth erstmal aktiviert. Und dann auch beim ausschalten des PCs teilweise die Tastatur angeht.

Das Eurozeichen ist dreimal auf der Tastatur, und das "DE-ISO" Caps eher als "Denglisch" einzuordnen.

Zudem habe ich den Support auf einen Defekt angesprochen und diskutiere nun seit über drei Wochen, um eine Rücksendung. Also seit euch sicher, bevor Ihr bestellt.

My very first mechanical keyboard.
It's one of the only existing ISO full size keyboard with BT, RF and USB. So great!
A lot of keys are provided to make it compatible to Nordic, DE and UK. As a french, it would have been perfect if FR keys were also provided :).
I did not try any mods. But I already had to change 3 switches which had a few miss (~20% chance of pushing key but nothing happens). Hopefully five spare switches are provided.
BT and RF are working very well. I was surprised by the low latency in BT, even if noticeable, it's not a problem for typing or slow pacing games (playing RPG is no problem).
Akko Cloud Driver has still a long way to go. Version 3 changed things but I think noone understood how to use layouts. I would have liked to be able to move the mouse using the keyboard (for a HTPC usage typically) but sadly you can bind every mouse buttons and wheel but not the mouse movement. I hope a software update will solve everything.
It's still a very good keyboard (a must when discounted).
Please note that the keyboard is sent from China but the customs and taxes are already paid.

Great keyboard, sturdy and customizable (got it for 60€ on sale). Only two downsides for me:
- The keycaps aren't see-through, which is kind of weird since the keyboard has RGB lighting. I ended up taking the keycaps from my old Corsair K70 and they fitted no problem.
- I regret not getting a wrist support with it, as the keyboard case itself is pretty thick/high

Die Tastatur ist sehr schön und die Qualität von Akko ist top, würde wieder kaufen. 👍👍
